foodbank Food Bank for the Heartland/BackPack Program

Becky San Martin, Emily Codr and Erin O’Mara, along with Anna, Maggie, and Nora Codr and Jayden Kennedy, organized thank you gifts for the Omaha Metro area teachers coordinating the BackPack program through the Food Bank for the Heartland.  Flowers and cookies are distributed to these teachers to show appreciation for all their hard work over this past school year.  The BackPack program launched in 2006 with just three schools participating, and today distributes 8,500 packs to children in need each week in 245 schools across Nebraska and western Iowa. During the 2014-2015 school year, 44 percent of the children who received packs lived in rural communities and 56 percent lived in the Omaha metro area. Old Mill Business Community
FWP hosted the Quarterly Meeting with area Old Mill businesses to discuss items such as what is going on in the city, upcoming events, crime issues, etc.

We want to thank Omaha Police Officers John Supeh and Angie Echtenkamp for taking time out of their busy schedules to educate us as citizens and for listening to our concerns.

It is amazing to have fantastic Old Mill neighbors and to be a part of such a great Omaha community. Representatives from TD Ameritrade, Hawthorne Suites, SKAR Advertising, Christ Community Church, Equitable Bank, Sheraton Hotel, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters took part in this recent meeting. We want to thank you for taking an interest in the community.
